About Us

Land Acknowledgement

Minnesota Community Care sites stand on the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Dakota people. This land was acquired unfairly in the Treaties of 1837 and 1851 and MCC acknowledges the legacies of violence, displacement, migration, and settlement of Indigenous Peoples.

We thank the Dakota people for their past and ongoing stewardship of Minnesota lands and commit ourselves to honoring the earth we stand on.

Help us Crush STIs at your Health Start Clinic!.Every year, our Health Start Clinics host a walk-in day that is focused on Sexually Trandmitted Infections or STIs..You might have heard STIs called STDs which stands for Sexually Transmitted Diseases. They mean the same thing! The tricky thing about them is that they often don’t have symptoms which is why it is recommended to get tested at least once a year once you become sexually active..We always offer STI testing at our clinics, but we have a raffle, a jeopardy game, and Health Start goodies to give you on our Crush days! Come register to be a patient and get entered into the raffle drawing to win a portable charger..Remember, sexual and reproductive health services are private and confidential..Thanks to everyone who has come to our Crush events at Johnson, Gordon Park, and Humboldt so far! 🍃WELLNESS WRITINGS🍃Loneliness & Solitude:In both environments, one is alone, but the emotional experience couldn’t be more different. Loneliness is when a person is isolated and feels emotional pain from the absence of others and their desire to connect. Solitude is when a person is isolated and feels emotionally content because they are connecting with themselves and the present moment. When you are feeling lonely, find hobbies you enjoy, go for a walk, cook a nourishing meal, or explore ways to connect with oneself through introspection and/or mindfulness. If you are feeling overwhelmed, be kind to yourself, start a conversation with a friend or a stranger, and reach out for help if you need it. MCC offers confidential, judgement-free appointments with trained professionals.Learn more at mncare.org#WereHereForYou #HealthForAll #WellnessWritings #MentalHealth ... See MoreSee Less
